Airlines lounge area, or how to travel and still feel like home
7:37 PM
No one said that only our houses, need to feel and look as the finest. It is important for us too to feel pleased and comfortable everywhere we are going, and apparently some people really do know how to treat they're clients.
In this blog post i want to take a small ride with you in some of the best lounge area airlines terminals. Of course some of these lounge areas are coming with the price of paying a VIP ticket, but as long as you pay it, then you supposed to be treated in some places like this ones.
1.Schipol airport lounge, Amsterdam.
Now this lounge area is definitely open for all the passengers, you can feel like a VIP but not for an extra price.
Lounge 3o, includes three shops designed by Dutch studio TJEP. One of them is a reminiscent of greenhouses and with a tapered roof derived from flowers baskets.
2.Turkish Airlines CIP Lounge, Istambul
Spread over 300 square meters and with a daily capacity of 2000 people, the new CIP lounge at the Ataturk Airport was designed by +Autoban and has a contemporary and architectural look.
The inspiration for the spheres came from traditional architecture, more exactly the arcade system. A series of section including the resting room, restaurants, tea garden, library and movie theater are conceived as separate spaces.
3.VIP Lounge Area Munich Airport,Germany.
A luxurious lounge with a simple but sophisticated design by +Erich Gassmann and +Tina Abmann. The design they came up with unifies both the past and future, progress and tradition, the terms that can also describe the city. Native woods, Bavarian materials such as leather, oak planks and felt,a nd a color palette featuring calming shades.
4. Finnair Lounge Area, Finland
Finnair has an entirely white lounge, with coloured lighting to set the mood, and a special area for children so other passagers aren°t disturbed.
5. London, Biggin Hill Airport
This lounge area is a VIP only destination. The lounge area represents a luxury airport lounge area for private jet customers at Biggin Hill airport.
Located within a major new'build 130.000sq m hangar and VIP terminal facility at the airport, the lounge 'comprised of a 478 sq m ground floor space and 186 sq m purpose built mezzanine floor.
6.Newark°s Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse, JFKTerminal, New York ,America
First class ticket has its perks. Tops among them to a private lounge allows you to avoid overpopulated departures gates. The Virgin Clubhouse at John F. Kennedy International Airport was built as a repeat collaboration with the company in-house design team, and they have created a dialog between two locations.
At 5,000 square feet, Newark’s Clubhouse is half the size of J.F.K.’s but serves roughly the same number of travelers. Accordingly, Hayes Slade explains, “We had to be judicious with the program.” That meant apportioning the open plan into zones, divided by ramps and low partitions but not compartmentalized. Colors and materials help establish zone identities. For example, the central bar’s surfacing segues from oak veneer to gray-stained solid oak and stainless steel to correspond to adjacent zones, each representing an urban archetype: coffee bar, indie movie house, cafe, nightclub.
7. Crowne Plaza Changi Airport , Singapore
8.bAKU°S hEYDAR aLIYEV iNTERNATIONAL aIRPORT
Designed by Turkish style gurus Seyhan Özdemir and Sefer Caglar, founders of Istanbul design practice Autoban, the new interior responds to a clear brief: 'When the Azeri airport authorities visited the CIP lounge we'd designed for Turkish Airlines in Istanbul, they wanted the same feel and idea of shells inside a bigger structure,' recalls Özdemir. 'They added that all passengers should feel like they are VIPs - that there should be no such thing as "public areas".'
Working around the idea of comfort and privacy, the duo designed cocoons that bring the human scale back to the core of this 1,000 sq m project. They also created areas of different ceiling heights to break the internal volume of the immense terminal. These help to define the spaces where passengers can rest, lounge, enjoy a spa treatment or play with their children in specially dedicated pods.
